Seats - Seatbelts & The Law (Berlingo Van)

Post by maillme »

Hi there,

I have a few questions - if i were to add a bench style seat to the back of my van - for say 2 adults, what do i have to do in order to abide by the law? E.g. - Do i need to have seatbelts fitted? if so - does it have to be by an 'offocial' dealer etc......

oh - also, the seats would be facing away - so, if there was someone on it, their back woudl be facing the direction of travel.

Many thanks for your help,
Neil

Rear van seats need to have belts fitted, unless (from what I remember) they're running the length of the van as opposed to across the van.

I think you also need load spreader plates under the floor.

Rear seats from a berlingo multispace would probably be the easiest way to go, but obviously they're not rear-facing: :?
