2001 xsara hdi 90 bhp

hi every one dont no if some one can help me i have a xsara 2001 hdi the last few days the stop light in the car dash is flashing on and off after a few miles now to day the eltric fan is comeing on and the temp gage is very slow coming up to the half way mark there is no lost of water or any leaks it is not over heating any one got any had this problem be for and would any one no were the thermostat would be on the engine could it be were the top hose gose to on the engine there is a small bleed pipe there not to sure if thats were the thermostat is thanks to any body that can help me out

HDI's take a while to get up to temp as they are very efficient. The fan (slow speed) will also come on if the A/C is switched on. Have a look at the brown connector that is located near the thermostat housing, take it off and give it a clean.
If after checking for airlocks you still have the same symptoms do a search here for the Bitron unit as there is plenty of information about it.

hello howie it was an air lock by the look of it i done 20 miles to day and no flashing red light telling me to stop will take it out for a longer drive so it seems you were right howie thanks mate for the info
