The multiway connectors in the passenger footwell do not work well underwater <img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>. Now their performance at low tide has been compromised by the build up of corrosion and electrolysis that has occurred as a result of the regular flooding under the drenched carpet.
When do you need to be able to disconnect these connectors? Is there any reason to keep a connector at this point in the loom or is it sensible to butt-join the cables and apply glue-laden heatshrink to prevent corrosion and water ingress reoccurring. Was it just a convenient place to spilt the loom during manufacture?
The car handles like a boat and it takes on water like one, any ideas where they put the bilge pump?
