Had a look in the C-Crosser yesterday...

Post by bencowell »

It looks nothing like a Citroen inside, I know it was developed with Mitsubishi, but the partnership only seems to go as far as "here's an engine - stick it in".

The column stalks look cheap and japensesey (similar to Toyota Avensis if I remember correctly), the aircon controls are rotary (similar to Chrysler Sebring).

The steering wheel leather feels cheaper and shinier than the leather wheel on the Xsara Picasso.

It also had my pet hate of words on the column stalks instead of symbols. Citroen, look at the stalks on the rest of the range. They are nice to use and look reasonable too. Couldn't you graft them on?

I can see the benefits of the C1 being a Toyota, but for a £20k plus car that looks nothing like a PSA........
Currently driving a 2004 C5 VTR (old shape) and an Electric Kia Soul. Sorry but the electric one is my favourite!
Formerly Hyundai Genesis 3.8 V6, 2 x Kia Optima, 2 x C5, Xsara and Saxo.

I suppose it's just an easy way for Cit to jump on the 'semi-off road' bandwagon.
It infuriates me to be wrong when I know I'm right

does make sense for them, Mitsu know what they're doing when it comes to 4x4's.
Citroen's version does have the better looking rear lights.

Anyone seen the new C5:

The new C5 is nice looking, the c-crosser is indeed a 'jump-on band wagon' trick, it's a shame they can't do something themselves like they used to in the olden days... think... bx, xm, cx, xantia, ax, zx, 2cv, visa, gs, ds, id, sm etc

Times are changing i'm afraid.
