Sensors near coils (pics added)

Post by oscarloco »

Hi guys

I just have a question, in my ZX there are 2 sensors in the base of the coil pack. What is the function of these?

:?: :?: :?:

Can you take a photo of that ?
I cant think of anything that looks like sensors right there ?
Could be some EGR solonoids or similar, which is specified for import cars in your country.

OK, just give me some time to get home. I have the camera there.

OK, here are the pictures. I accidentally broke one while trying to remove the speedo connector from above. The plastic was very brittle.

You can see the coil pack and the connectors in the bottom

Here they are a little closer

They look like high-tension wires of the sort going to the plugs.
Perhaps something to do with 2 firings per stroke … afterburn.
Temperature sensors normally would have thin wires.

That's it! They do have thin wires. But they look much bigger because of the insulation.

The one thas is broken came loose 2 days ago, check light on and the engine became very very rough. That explains it.

Thank you guys!
