Climate control sensor and fan
I thought I'd take a look at the interior temperature sensor and found the fan isn't working. Whenever I turn the ignition on the fan blades rotate about 20 degrees and that's it.
Is it supposed to run with the ignition on or only when certain conditions prevail?

Mine seems to run all the time, can you check there is a voltage supply, that would prove it out.
It infuriates me to be wrong when I know I'm right

mike
just looked through my BOL and it shows that the centre vents above clock clip out and there are two screws one top right one bottom left
this then pulls out attatched too lots of wires/plugs one of these is for the fan/sensor
not sure if rest of dash comes out first as it is halfway through fascia removal process
hope this is of some help

just had a go at mine and the whole vent assembly including clock and switches appear to be one piece and is overlapped by dashboard assembly
not sure if glovebox/radio were removed whether you would gain more access unless you are prepared to bend it around overlapped piece.my guess this could leave you with a bit of a rattle
sorry cant be more helpful

just had another look at BOL and it seems the piece stopping vent unit coming out is the switch panel.book shows it with steering wheel off but have seen on here that you can get instrument cluster out without removing steering wheel and you need switch panel out before instrument cluster comes out
mind if you go that far you just as well take instrument cluster out and replace all bulbs cos you know what would happen as soon as it went back together....... it is a citroen

I replaced mine about 1 year ago and IIRC I only had to remove the radio to gain enough access to release one of the two clips that hold the unit in and 'waggle' it free. There are two plugs to the unit. One to the motor at the back and one attached to a trailing lead from the temperature sensor.
I did try to clean my old one but in doing so managed to break one of the very fine motor wires. These are impossible, believe me I tried, to solder back on!
The motor is made up of a stationary coil and the magnets, attached to the fan, rotate around a central peg inside the coil. It is what is none as a brushless inrunner motor. If you have to buy a new unit there are two types the one without the red led in the centre is cheaper and the led part can be swapped over if you are careful.
Regards
Richard

depends if you have an honest face
best way is to phone and ask how much-- is it on the shelf--- or do you have to get it yourself
ask for a couple of other things that you dont need and hope they are cheap and on the car 8)
then you end up with B O G O F (or two or three) depends on size of tool box
if i go weekend ill pm you and let you know whats up there
i may have space myself
