Heated Washer Jets

Post by mbunting »

Does anyone know of a source of heated washer jets for a Xantia ?
I had thought about extending the washer pipe and wrapping around the coolant hoses, but I've read posts that say this isn't so effective.

I use a strong mix of winter screen wash and when the temperature goes below freezing regularly I bung 1/2 to 3/4 pint of methylated spirits in with it, that stops the bugger freezing.
Learned that one from a bloke who used to live in Sweeden.

Mat,
You should be able to get heated washer jets for a Xantia from a Citroen dealer, as my Xantia has them as standard. Don't know what they would charge for them though!
I wonder if the wiring for them is present in the loom in every Xantia?? Rich

Jmd, never had any problem yet, its only alcohol anyway, if you look on the lable of most winter screenwash it says not to let neat solution come into contact with paintwork, so what do they stuff in that.
