I've read somewhere that the ES9J4 uses the same fixing points as the ML5T gearbox (Activa/2.1TD with hydraulic clutch).
Use that and 2.1 driveshafts? I don't know (or care) which is technically quicker out of an auto or manual, but I do know a manual is a lot more involving and fun to drive. Depends what you want to use the car for, but put it this way:
If they'd ever of introduced the Activa V6 to the UK, I'd have one now.
V6 Auto to Manual

That is food for thought, i had the 2.1td before this V6 and that had hydraulic clutch too, not that it matters much, but it worked well for me.
I would also have assumed the V6 would need the activa gearbox to handle the big torque.
As for the driveshafts, because the engine is missing a cylinder at the end the driveshafts may be longer on the left side and shorter on the right side.
I agree about the involvment of the manual box, but the auto box is cool too, i'm between two minds here!

I'm just thinking it would be a totally different beast if we put a manual box on the V6, seeing as no one has really done it then who can say it's not going to be better (or worse).
I think I will pop to France with my gf this summer, she really want to go to Paris, I can go spy on the cars, maybe I will spot a Xantia V6 Activa. I'm really not keen on the idea of a left hand drive though. Ewwww

No one on this forum certainly... but plenty of people have transplanted the V6 engine into various cars with manual boxes. If you don't fancy a try in a left hooker, try a Peugeot!!deian wrote: seeing as no one has really done it then who can say it's not going to be better (or worse).
