The Xantia would eat it alive (BMW 170bhp ) (Xantia 194bhp) .. it is an Auto/Tiptronic box.. again, not as impressive as the Xantia box BUT it certainly feels more settled at motorway speeds (70+) and goes round bends in a 'less exciting' way.. BUT I didn't buy it for speed... reliability and reasonable economy (better than the Xantia V6).!!!!deian wrote: My bro had a 523 estate a couple of years ago, and it was ok, i expecting better from a 523, it has a 2.5 6pot engine in it right? which has about 190bhp? is yours an auto? why don't u race them side by side, on private land of course.

No, the V6 doesnt have the Activa suspension.
However, on the continent there were V6 Activa Models available to buy with a manual gearbox.
There was one on ebay a few months ago for €2000.

Why bother? Leave it as LHD, I quite enjoyed LHD with my M3 (E30, the original). I also discovered why indicator stalks are on the left side of the column on European car's. I also noticed that the left footwell was wider than the right and that car radio's are designed for LHD with the volume knob on the left. Best of all every time I got out I didn't have to play with traffic Overtaking wasn't a problem either, it just required a little extra planning then power past A manual V6 Xantia will also be quite a rapid car I'm looking,,,,,LeeDJC wrote:How difficult would a conversion be??

Don't forget the Xantia only has 194 bhp if you use 98 RON fuel, any less and the ecu retards the ignition to stop it blowing holes in the pistons, so on normal 95 Ron you are probably down 15 horses.f00lzz wrote:The Xantia would eat it alive (BMW 170bhp ) (Xantia 194bhp) .. it is an Auto/Tiptronic box.. again, not as impressive as the Xantia box BUT it certainly feels more settled at motorway speeds (70+) and goes round bends in a 'less exciting' way.. Well I always run mine on 98 and on the odd occasion that I've had to use 95 it felt quite lethargic in comparison.deian wrote:So on RON 98... super unleaded you get more power?
Here's a tip for you, run it down to empty, fill up with 98, go home, disconnect the battery for half an hour. When you reconnect, switch the ignition on all the way but don't start the engine. Actuate the throttle pedal fully down three or four times, then start up, go for a drive and hang onto your fillings.

Could I ask what pressing the throttle pedal down 3-4 times does? I presume it's to reset something, the kickdown maybe? When you reconnect, switch the ignition on all the way but don't start the engine. Yeah, on my car at least the difference in fuel economy actually makes using super unleaded slightly cheaper overall, and the car seems to run better as well.I hear u get better economy on RON 98 too, is this true?
