xantia heater fan
Hi in a xantia with a/c if the resistors pack in does the fan stop working or go to max speed and does anyone know where to buy new brushes Regards john.
Weird goings on with these fans are usually power supply related and have been discussed several times.
Maybe someone can answer your query, but my bet is most will point you here:

Its not a resistor pack its a transistor regulator. The symptoms depend on how the unit goes faulty. Very often the transistors go short circuit whic causes the motor to run flat out. If its not working at all, check that you have 12v across the thick red and black wires on the plug. No voltage on an XM usually is usually caused by a poor connection on the fuse in the small box in front of the battery, I dont know if the Xantia is the same, I have heard of problems with the ignition switch. The brushes are unlikely to be the problem, I have never come across one with worn out brushes - but there's always a first time...
