Hi all,
I've just bought myself a ZX 1.6i Aura on a K plate with 87k and FSH. I've had 3 AX's (including a GT500) at various times in the past.
I'm very pleased with it, but as with all second hand cars it has a few minor issues....
The NSR door is not locking/unlocking off the central locking, I'm guessing the solenoid has packed in?
Should the central locking work from the passenger door?
Is the glass panel of the sunroof easy to remove?
There looks to be a metal bit round the edge to which the rubber seal is attatched, this is rusting on my car and so I was looking to replace just the glass panel.
Many thanks in advance
Newbie with a few questions....

If you have a plip or the sensor for it - the nearside door lock will not operate the central locking as the plip receiver is connected instead. Strange but true!
I've never investigated it but always thought the rubber strip round the sunshine roof simply had steel clips in it to help it grip the glass. I've always thought that it was a standard industrial section and so freely available at specialised outlets. These are listed in yellow pages.

I had a door locking solenoid fail on my BX (the internal switches in fact) It was the NSfront door which does have an active key (no plip) and it would not lock.
I found that a Maplins one dropped straight in - fitting the linkage and bolt holes - which suggests to me that these things may be fairly general.
It may be a wiring fault - although I wouldn't have thought that the wiring to the rear door had had much flexing. Worth checking first for the dreaded corroded terminal problem as the car's a fair age now!
There are 2 types of generic lock motor - 5 wire for doors with key locks and 2 wire for others.
