carburetors

Post by 504GLD »

Can anybody tell me what carburetors were fitted to single port cylinder heads on Citroen BX pre-TU engine. I want to find a replacement for my Talbot Samba with a Solex.

Thats Haynes BX stuff !

From the era where Haynes were really useful manuals :D

Solex basic type 30-30Z2 cit on the 150A standard 62Bhp 4speed lump
Solex basic type 32-34Z2 cit on the 150C 'enhanced' 72Bhp 5speed lump

I'd say any carb that goes on your inlet manifolfd - not TOO big ported - will fit your engine. The only trouble you might run into is CO emissions at idle - and a stable idle - if the carb is from too big an engine. That will require fiddly re-jetting.
