Running (as it should)

Post by Sturdybloke »

After somewhere between 7-9 months of my Xantia sitting dead at the bottom of the garden with a shot HG, I have finally fixed it in the last week. Stripped the head down and had it skimmed. Thorough clean in the bath (big telling off over the mess in bath). Rebuilt with all new gaskets, seals and filters, reset tappets, new metal HG and bolts (they came to 75 quid!!). Last thing now is to give it a oil & filter change and flush out block/fill up with fresh coolant and play about with the injection pump timing/settings as is smokes a bit when cold but runs fine after 2-3 mins

Got to go looking for a pair of front strut mounts (shot), rear O/S corner lens, fit rear cylinder boots and then send it for a MOT. Will post the results.

As long as you got her out of the bath first, not a problem.

What's wrong with that Anders??

A saying here in the UK goes, "Needs must when the devil farts in yer face".

In otherwords, anything goes when desperation hits.
