Have just been investigating LPG conversion of my 2.0 litre petrol Xantia. It seems you can't use the cheaper technology with the standard plastic inlet manfold...it seems that a back fire would reduce it to shards of plastic. This leaves only the option of more expensive (ie 2000 pounds/A$5000) injection systems.
So - is there such a thing as a non-plastic, metal/metal alloy inlet manifold for a Citroen Xantia? or for a 2 litre 8 valve Peugeot 306 motor, which is the same engine.
Any information gratefully received!

For sure a backfire in a plastic manifold would leave you minus an inlet manifoldacreid wrote:It seems you can't use the cheaper technology with the standard plastic inlet manfold...it seems that a back fire would reduce it to shards of plastic.

My Discovery runs on LPG and I can vouch for the ferocity of backfired gases
