can someone give me an 'simple ' step by step guilde to changing a thermostat on a 1.9 td engine :oops:

This is best done by reading the relevant section in a Haynes manual.

There are many things you may need to do to the cooling. Like a full fluid change and a full system flush.

Search on here to pick up some tips.

You say you're no mechanic... so where would we start ?

Haynes will be the best place for the full description with pics.

Its not a really difficult job but the most important part is to make sure you get all the air out of the system when you refill it. Failure to do so has resulted in the demise of many a 1.9 td cylinder head! Bleeding it is not difficult but a long slow process.
