xantia rear suspension fault

Post by paco »

hi

just joined, need help already

i have a 1996 xantia 1.9 td

the brakes, steering and front suspension seems fine, the lhm is green and to its correct level, but recently the rear suspension completely sank when you raise the suspension to high it does not return, it remains high.

Sounds like the height corrector linkage has siezed and the plastic link has fallen off. Lubricate the linkage and free it off and buy a new link. (cheap from Citroen)

Numerous other links on this subject on here.

Be careful working on the linkage under the car. If it drops rapidly it will KILL you - and you are working on what holds it up!

Reckon you're spot on jeremy, I had the same problem as paco & fixed it as you said.

Sprayed it with WD40, then engine oil when it had un-seized.
