So it is not a "High octane" fuel.
Methylated spirits in fact.
It will eat most fuel piping, is hygroscopic and really not the stuff to put in your diesel pump.

I've used methanol in model engines where the mainstay of lubrication for years was castor oil. Considering that these engines aren't to the tolerances of a diesel injector pumps and still need ratios of anything like 30/70 (castor/methanol) it's reasonable to say it wouldn't work. It's also far more volatile than diesel so could either cause damage when injected or the timing would be different.
SVO or bio-diesel works well though. At least it did in my 405 TD.
