HDi Dispatch Speedometer and Odometer

Post by paulstow »

Any experience on Dispatch vans out there?

The lcd odometer / trip display packed up a while ago, but I assumed that was just an electric connection behind the dash so left it alone. Now the speedo has stopped working - just stuck on zero. Apparently it stopped and started a couple of times before dieing.

Anyone know whether the dispatch speedo is electrical or mechanical?

Anyone had the dash apart before - I have visions of fighting with air bags etc.

Cheers - Jez

If its new enough to be HDi then I think its fair to assume that it would be electronic. It will be driven by a sensor somwhere, probably on the gearbox near the transmission. Either the sensor itself has failed or you have a defective connection. Hopefully someone who has had the problem or knows where the sensor is will post.

If the odometer has packed up independently there is a good chance that the actual instrument is faulty.
