They were Kleber Dynaxer, I think HP2. I got my friendly local tyre supplier to get them for me (he did go to shool with my son though) If you look at the online tyre suppliers, you can either buy them mail order or some sites will direct you to a local garage that will fit them.

The original Michelin Energy tyres that came with my car were on the rear, and had been there for 78k miles and 7 years. I put them on the front so that they'd wear and eventually replaced them with some Uniroyals. I was impressed by the fact that they wore uniformly over their width rather than losing the shoulders of the tyre.

Good suspension geometry, front wheel alignment, correct inflation and careful driving are largely responsible for that ! Congratulations :) :)

Another Michelin brand made in that same Dundee factory along with the Klebers. Michelin are also BF Goodrich.

Uniroyal are Continental not Michelin, but you're right that they are a cheaper brand from one of the premium manufacturers....

It has been 4 years since I left. I was sure they were owned by Michelin then. I will look into it I think.

Chaps

Check out http://www.blackcircles.co.uk. You get the choose the tyres you want from just about every currently available type, pick where and when you want them fitted and pay on-line. Then just turn up and get them fitted. Much better than making do with what's on the shelf on the day that you turn up.

That is a bit strange, especially when there are sites like this one about.

http://www.conti-online.com/generator/w ... al_en.html

Why do both Conti and Michelin think they own Uniroyal? Does one have the brand in north america and the other in Europe?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continental_AG
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uniroyal
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goodrich_Corporation
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelin

So, according to those pages.... Goodrich merged with Uniroyal, the Michelin bought the tyre businesses of Goodrich / Uniroyal but Continental uses the brand.... I'm confused :(

I completely hate the Fiesta 'hard sporty'(?) suspension....the ride quality is just depressive.
