ZX and diesel pumps

Post by srx600 »

This may be a daft question, but was the ZX 1.9D (not turbo) ever fitted with a Bosch diesel pump ?. Ive seen plenty of Bosch pumps for the TD, but only seen Lucas pumps for the 1.9D.

Ok, thanks for that. Do you know whether the Bosch pump will bolt to the aluminium cradle the Lucas pump uses, or will I need the cradle as well. ?
Also does anyone have one they are willing to part with ?

The cradle is the same, there are two sets of tapped holes in it, just put the three studs in the other set of holes and your bosch pump will fit.

But ...you must also change the injector pipes for the ones that come with the pump. otherwise, you will find you cant start the engine. The outputs are connected to different injectors, puts the timing all out - guess how I know! Only that was on a BX.
