C5 central locking

Post by brian.r.uk »

had an odd fault appear on my c5 today, the central locking suddenly activated when i was driving along.the light came on the locking button on the dash but no amount of pressing of the button would open the locks.when i stopped i opened the doors ok with the handle on the inside of the door.this happened a few times also when i unlocked it with the remote from the outside it locked itself again.not long before all this happened we had had a heavy downpour of rain, whether this could have any bearing i dont know.has anyone any theories please. :?

C5 2002 2.0hdi sx.

thanks brian.

C5 locking - rain?

Looks lmy problem might be the immobilser ECU (BSI I think). I have been advised to use a 2nd key (which I do not have yet) and by a process of elimination determine if it is the key or the aerial /receiver in the ingnition barrel before considering the BSI which I understand is pricey!!
