Rev counter on zx

Post by louis1 »

Hi this may sound petty but it is annoying. I have a 1993 zx td and the rev conter is not still, it does not wobble like a speedo does it wounders, it does it more at certain revs than others, and at about 4000ish rpm at will wounder from 3000rpm to 5000rpm back and forth and keep doing this till you eaither changer gear or hit the govner. This cannot be normal and has any one else expereinced this.
cheers

Yes, my BX TD used to do this. I just ignored it, as it was nearly scrap anyway! The sensor for the rev counter is on the back of the block where it gets covered in all manner of oil and gunge. Taking it out and cleaning it, and resetting the clearance may clear the problem.
