Driveshaft removal!

Post by handyman »

Anybody got any suggestions for the removal of the LONG driveshaft on the ZX Saloon? I have split the hub from the CV joint, suspension is all out of the way.
I have pushed, pulled, sworn, hammered, pryed and nearly cried but the intermediate bearing wont move in its housing. Before you ask, yes I have released the two captive bolts that hold on the outer track.
I removed the long driveshaft from my Activa recently, without any problems.
I do not want to damage the shaft in its removal so any normal suggestions would be appreciated, before I resort to cutting the locating spring pins on the bearing housing and taking it out in one lump.

..Or if you cant get at it, clamp a large pair of mole grips tight on the shaft and hit them hard outwards.
