Hello & welcome to the forum.Fitting the towbar on the estate is easy,i`ve done 2.They fitted the same, but on my Dad`s Xantia TD est on a P reg `96,the mounting holes had to be drilled out.
underneath the car. They were already pressed in to the chassis, but not drilled out.
On my late `97 R reg,the mounting holes were already punched out of the chassis,so it was simply a case of bolting the towbar straight in.
Whether you have to drill out the holes or not,its easy to fit.The bumper dose`nt have to come off.
I think all towbars are specific to each car,so would`nt think another 1 will fit.
We get all our tow bars from Towsure in Sheffield mail order.Or Ebay usally has some.

The estate tow bar IS MODEL specific - no use looking at saloon ones!

As Andrew says,it will have to be a towbar from an estate. As for the wiring, the light circuit is straight foward enough(black socket)but if you will be fitting the grey aux socket(split charging etc for caravan)getting the cables fron the engine bay to the rear is fiddley.I ran protected cables out the back of the engine bay from the alternator & battery, underneath the car to the towbar. There is a plastic type conduit protecting the pipe work underneath.I put the wires on top of this out of the way. :)
