I have seen some on Ebay which may be suitable for the petrol engine but they only seem to be available for diesel engines made after 2004.

Glow plug relay is maybe starting to give way i think.

Our old xantia did something similar and then wouldnt preheat the plugs at all for a few days and wouldnt start on the last. The AA guy re-did all the cabling he could and still nothing so preheated the plugs using his jump leads. we fitted one from an apparent HDI engine and the thing worked fine, bar the Tacho, for the next 4+ years :)

Check your battery vaoltage !

The timer relay does exactly like this if the battery is low. This in turn could be caused by dodgy battery clamps - or a weak generator (or its charge cable).
Could of course be a defective battery. Depending on the age the likelyhood increases upto about 5 years where most batteries give up their ghost.

Kp. i changed the relay.
AndersDK. brand new battery last friday,But was same with old battery.
Got me baffled i was sure the relay would fix it.Gonna try and get a auto electrician to take a look.
