If everyone were to answer this question then I suspect that the results would range from 95 to 130 mph! I use a handheld GPS in my car and I can tell you that speedos are very inaccurate at these speeds. For example at an indicated 125 mph my C3 is doing 114 mph. A F**d Fiesta which I was a passenger in told me his car would do 130+, at 80 on the speedo he was in fact doing about 66.
The most accurate car speedo I have ever found was on a freinds BMW, indicated 95 GPS said 97.

Greater accurancy of top speed is obtained by using the rev counter rather than the speedo. My last three Citroen speedos/mileometers have all recorded higher than fact. In a ZX TD, if you drive in top gear with the rev counter on 3000rpm, you will be doing 75.9mph. In other words, 25.3mph for every 1000rpm. Not every model is the same. For my own 2.1TD the figure is 27.3/1000rpm.
