Continuing starting problem

Post by Huntly »

 '97 Xantia 1.8i 16v .60,000 mls Scotland. No previous problems with starting/running. Out of the blue, it just turns over but doesn't start.Checked forum and checked for power at fuel pump with ignition on- none. Borrowed another twin relay and it started first time. Sorted ? no -left it overnight and it again started first time but 10 mins into a run around town it died again - same problem. I'll check the second relay back in the other car tomorrow and see if it's working.Any suggestions as to next steps would be much appreciated.

Sounds as though you have an intermittent connection somewhere. Try running a temporary lead extrernaly to the pump, if that cures it, you can either follow the lead back to try and find the fault or make the temporary lead permanant.
