Xantia engine connections

Post by vanny »

Which is which when it comes to the sensor connections on a Xantia td (1.9td '96 estate)?

I have identified the following;
  • Glow plug temp control - rear of fuel filter, genn conector, 1 pin
  • Temp guage probe - front of fuel filter, blue conector, 2 pin
  • Air con fan trigger - front of fuel filter, brown connector, 2pin?
  • air in water sensor - back of fuel filter, black, three pin
  • rev counter - from TDC sensor on fly wheel, white, three pin
  • stop solenoid - fuel pump
but im not sure about;
  • 1) oil pressure
  • 2) oil temp
  • 3) oil level
And i think i have three spare connectors;
  • a) blue connector in front of sump, 2pin?
  • b) yellow connector, from back of block, i think above the sump
  • c) i think there is a third behind or very near the fuel pump

dont suppose some one would like to do the dot to dot and let me know which connects to which? Dont think i'm gonna figure it out, having looked at so many engine recently, and the haynes wirign diagram, its not making much sense!

Not so sure about this one..
air in water sensor - back of fuel filter, black, three pin
Thought it was the 'water in fuel' sensor... and I thought that one of the three sensors in that area was something to do with idling speed.

my bad, think i got a little bit lost! Yes i did mean the 'water in fuel' sensor, though an air in fuel sensor would be pretty useful at times :D

Didnt know anything about any connections relating to idle speed, but it could be a useful hint!
