DIY ABS??

Post by Thompatruck »

With the onset of winter and a couple of near misses, i'm investing in a new set of tyres for my ZX, I was also wondering whether it's possible to fit ABS to a standard ZX and if so how easy is it to do? I admit to know nothing about ABS (ie how it works and what bits you need) so any insight would be greatly received!

To be honest, its not a practical option.
Off the top of my head you'd need
2 driveshafts with ABS rings
4 ABS sensors
Rear wheel bearings (with ABS rings), also on a ZX the ABS cars were all Disc brakes at the rear.
Master cylinder.
Wiring Loom.
ABS ECU.
Thats just for starters. All sounds a bit complicated to me.

Cheers Jon, It was only a thought, and on consideration not a very practical one!
Thanks anyway!
