I want to install an alarm on her, got a good deal on one and will probably save the installation money by wiring it myself. Usual stuff :)

C5 is CAN!

You need an alarm that's CAN compatible!

The guy who's selling it is a friend of mine, and has successfully installed one on his 2004 206 1.4HDI. As CAN is CAN and doesn't mind if it's installed on a C6 or a C2 (the wiring is basically the same anyway) i was considering giving it a chance.

You can fit just about any aftermarket alarm to multiplexed cars without any problems at all,as long as the person installing it does it corectly.
i dont think it will be any good to make your connections at the alarm ECU plug, all you really have there is battery live, signal to siren, input from ultrasonic deactivation button, earth & bonnet switch wiring.all the rest of the info like indicators, doors open & central locking comes to the alarm ECU via the VAN network as digital signals so you cant take this info from there.
On the C5 you can pick up most of the wires you need for alarm installation at the BSI.
