I'v been told that this noise is the cv-joint, upon looking for the replacement part it seems that you can only buy a compleate driveshaft? my car is a 1993 zx td 1900cc with ABS. so if any one can tell me if it is true and you can not get just the cv-joint.
thanks all.

This noise usually only occurs when the wheels are angled, and the car is traveling in a curve, going straight ahead noisey cv joints are quiet, usually.
To the best of my knowledge, cv joints are not available seperately, you have to buy the complete drive shaft, if its the right hand shaft with the bearing on it, this may be advisable, plus you will also get a reworked inboard joint, all greased up with new boots on.
You can however replace just the cv joint if you can obtain one from a breakers yard, ZX's with anti lock are not all that common though.
