Xantia tow bracket

Post by DaveW »

Ok, I have welding gear, odds 'n' ends of steel stock and the necessary tools.
Just need an illustration/line drawing, preferably with dimensions but OK without.

Can anyone help please ?

Don't for get that on cars later than a certain date, towbars have to be type approved. I think you just escape, but best to check.

Seen one or two on Ebay at such silly prices that making one wouldn't be worth it.

Estate or saloon?

Why go to the considerable trouble and risk when as John says, go and get one off ebay for no money. There's a Genuine Cit saloon one with the new Citroen packaging on at the mo and an estate one went through a few days back for 8 quid...

This is EXACTLY what ebay is for!

Thanks for the input.

I had not seen anything below £60 (ish) on Ebay but then I don't go there very often.
As I only ever tow a small box trailer (5x3), I usually knock one up for whatever car I'm driving.

The qualifying date is August 1998. For cars built after that date only a towbar made to EC standard is allowed.
