MK2 Xantia Engine Swop (Immobiliser)
I am thinking of swopping the engine on my MK2 Xantia Diesel DHX, I have an engine from a 1997 Peudeot 406, there do seem to be some minor differences mainly in the exhaust manifold area, I do not see a proble there hopefully. Does anyone know if I am likely to have a problem with the immobiliser, it is the type that has a transponder in the key, not the earlier type keypad that stopped the stop valve on the pump from operating. Does this later immobiliser still work in the same way or is the code possibly, hopefully stored in the ECU which I will not be changeing. If it is stored in the pump then would a pump swop solve the problem.

I think this depends on the type of pump - the first generation of 'secure' pump simply have the stop solenoid shielded to prevent tampering. Later ones may be different. Some later ones are more 'Electronic'
There are instructions on here for removing the need for codes on some but not (I think) for the Epic pump or its Bosch equivalent.
