After (trying) to dry the car under the carpet behind the off side passenger seat I noticed something weird. There is a singe wire with a white connection plug that was just hanging around. With a lot of feeling around I managed to find the other connector and plugged it in again ..... however, no change anywhere in the car ... everything works, besides the back door on the off side is still in dead lock (was already before I discovered the wire) ... Not sure if this is related somehow Does anybody know what the wire is for as the Haynes manual doesn't make sense to me.
Thanks in advance ...
John

If this is a UK right hand drive car, the passenger side is the nearside, the offside being the driving side.
The wire is most likely from the alarm, its control box is below the passenger seat(UK), if it is this wire then it has been noted before that it is not plugged in.
If there has been alot of water in the footwell, check the alarm ecu has not been submerged.
