Hi
I just want to know if anybody has ideas on how to improve the performance of a ZX 2.0 8v petrol.
I was thinking maybe installing the inlet manifold of the ZX 16v.
Any ideas?

Save your money & effort. Sell it and buy a Xsara VTS ( 167bhp)
If you spend pots of money on the ZX, you will never get it back. Instead of trying to emulate a quicker Citroen , actually buying one will work out cheaper in the longrun. I've seen plenty VTS's under £1500 which is pennies for 167bhp.
....however I've just noticed your location, so maybe its not the same situation in your country.

Oscar you have asked this before
Honestly - this forum is not specialised in tuning cars - although lots of members here knows a bit here and there.
Seek advice on the specialised sports fora - lots of them - and these guys knows how to squeeze the last chicken-brake-power out of any engine

Well for those who asked, there are very few Citroens in Guatemala, even fewer Xsaras and Xantias. Most are ZX, AX and XM's.
Right now, the C2, C3 and C4 are starting to gain participation.
Thank's anyway, it was worth a shot

You can get 10bhp from a new chip. But its probably not worth it.
The ACAV manifold is an attempt to overcome the lack of low-down torque in 16v petrol engines. It is unlikely to do much good in an 8 valver, even if the engine management could control it. From what I've read (I've never driven either), the 8v is better to drive than the 16v anyway, although it looses out in the figures.
Enjoy the one you've got!

I agree the 8v has better torque but around 6k the engine dies. I would love to rev it to the 6.5k redlineSl4yer wrote:You can get 10bhp from a new chip. But its probably not worth it.
