a few things that are bugging me (but for the price i paid for it i can live with)
my stop light stays on for about a minute when cold starting - then turns off and stays off - any idea`s?
and sometimes the brakes are soft as well.
it `wobbles` when stationary?
the power steering sometimes goes heavy , usually when the car is at idle and im stationary turning the wheel
it lightens up when i rev it.
any idea`s?
a few activa questions

The stop light and steering would point to low hydraulic pressure, check the LHM level and also the hydraulic pump belt tension.
The 'woobble' you describe sounds like uneven tickover, most likely cause, low compression on one cylinder. Could be incorrect valve clearances or engine wear. If it drives OK I wouldn't worry about it.

1) do the citaerobics (some call it Cit limbo rock)
2) check LHM reservoir level : either as prescribed with car in highest and float to be between markings - OR - altenatively car in lowest reservoir level to be max 2" down (a finger is a "handy" gauge)
3) check the hydraulic pump belt is VERY tight - much tighter than a generator belt.
4) check the large diameter rubber hose on the pump. This is the feed hose from the reservoir. If this hose shows hairline cracks - it is most likely leaking - and then the pump takes in air.
5) check same hose's clamps on pump and reservoir studs. Must be tight. Check studs for cracks.

Hi
I believe that Activa's do take a while to reach operating pressure - my light takes about 30-40 seconds to go out from cold. As others have said though, it's worth investigating pump,LHM evel and belts etc.
As for the wobble, I think most Activas do a little shuffle when idling at traffic lights etc. Mine certainly does - I have been assured that this is just one of the little quirks that they have and is nothing to worry about.
Hope this helps,
Rob

Actually, having just read AndyC's post about common faults with Activa's on Activanet, it seems that the shuffling and slow to extinguish stop light maybe linked to a flat acc. sphere.

It seems that Andy is Activa God and certainly knows what he's talking about!

The acc sphere is pretty cheap/easy to replace.
I know there sphere itself cost around £20 and is a quick and easy job to do.

The shuffle from side to side when stationary is an Activa "quirk".
I recall test driving a couple of new ones and both did this, particularly if the brake pedal was pressed at the time. If the brake pedal was repeatedly pressed then the shuffle would quicken which I found rather amusing I can't help thinking what a passenger would think of it

The shuffling is completely normal.....its because of the cars lateral sensors reading and processing lots of information many times a second....it over corrects itself. People complain of getting seasick in them
The steering and stop light are related.....if the belt is tight then you have a lazy pump. Change the pump and both problems should dissapear.
