Citroen radio screen has gone out!

Post by Robin »

The radio information screen has just 'gone out' on my XM. It is the one on the radio and not the dashboard display, that's fine.
So before I go pulling it apart anyone got any ideas or tips?
Does it have replacement lamps/bulbs by anychance?
Thanks all, Robin

Yeah I guess the Illumination bulbs on the PCB behind the display have blown..

Its a fiddly job, but possible. Handy with a soldering iorn too if you are.

Having replaced a couple of these lamps I can echo what citroenxm says. They are extremely small lamps and you have to partialy dismantle the radio to get to them. I replaced mine with the capless dashboard illumination type lamps, with the wires unwound but had to enlarge the holes to fit them. There are smaller lamps available, I think the ones used in model railways, but its a fiddly job, you need a very small bit on your soldering iron and a steady hand.
