Replacing rear calipers

Post by p20 »

Hi. I'm going to replace the rear calipers on my Xantia. One has started pouring fluid out of it. The other has bad corrosion and now sits at a bad angle.
Is there anything i need to put on the surfaces between the caliper and the mount?
Any other points/hints things i should look out for?

Thanks for any advice

As standard the Xantia has nothing between the caliper and suspension arm and it gets corrosion in the gap because of it. I've tried grease and waterproof grease in the gap and neither one stopped the corrosion. I've just put wire rope grease in, this stuff is like tar hopefully it'll stay put.

Cheers. Wonder if that caliper paint the boy racers use would be any good?
