ZX Cambelt change prices

Post by Pug106Dave »

I've got a 1.9D ZX M reg, just got to 120k, last belt change was at 73k so am thinking about getting it done, just had a quote of £160+vat for belt, water pump and antifreeze, from the local garage. Does this sound reasonable? Or anybody know of any specialists in the nottingham area that might be a better choice?

At 120K, ask your garage to have a good long hard look at the state of the tensioner and pulleys. If they're not perfect, get them changed. One of my pulleys was very slightly grumbly when I did my belt at 120K, and would have been unlikely to last until the next belt change.

Parts are only about £40, and ten minutes to fit when you've got the belt off.
