Post by AtitudeJim »

When I wanted two thickish wires from battery to the boot of my C5 estate for powering caravan fridge and lighting, I ran a wire from the battery to a fuse holder fitted close to the battery. Then I threaded the two wires into a length of PVC tubing, ran them down the back of the engine, threaded them through the conduit covering the fuel pipes and took them up over the fuel tank. I drilled a hole in the plastic cap (the one to access the fuel sender unit under the rear seat) and then under the carpet into the cargo area where the two relays were fitted.

so you took the cable to the trunk through the exterior (under the car)....
i think that must be a mesh of cables that goes from the engine bay into the glove compartment were there is a second fuse box , but im not sure... if yes... it would be much safer.
ill keep your tip in mind if i dont find an alternative way.

do NOT use the big grommet at the n/s behind the glovebox,it will eventually lead to water getting into the BSI,you really dont want that.

That is how I am thinking of doing it on my Xantia. There appears to be a spare entry into the fuel pipe conduit. I wonder if some cars have 3 pipes from engine to tank.
