Indicators switch from one side to the other!?!

Post by Strikeout »

Hi,

I have owned a Xantia 1.9TD for well over a year now and had little problems with it, until now that is. When I operate my indicators they stay on and switch from one side to the other intermitantly, sometimes the hazards even come on! Is this a simple fix or will it drain the bank account?

I would think that it is probably a faulty control stalk switch which shouldn't cost very much, especially if you get one from a scrap yard.

Thank you for your advice, I do not possess a manual for it as I never thought I would realy need one, however, in this it would seem so..:o(

Is it an easy job getting to the stalk switch?

Not to familier with Xantias but its not to difficult on the XM.....I've just had a look in the book, it says "remove steering wheel" and the shrouds of course, that shouldn't be difficult unless you have an airbag. Once you have done that, it's just a question of unscrewing and unplugging.
