Fuel leak, filter housing TD 1.9 1994

Post by jgra1 »

Hi all, I have low supply fuel pressure, and need to prime every time I start my Xantia TD (air bubbles in clear pipe to injector). I have changed the prime bulb with a good spare one. I notice there is Diesel coming from the 'water-in-fuel' sensor area, at the bottom of the filter housing. It this leak fixable or do I need a whole new plastic filter housing?

Many thanks
John

first thing to check is if its the seal or a crack, the filter housing needs to be air tight, there is also an O ring seal between the bottom of the housing and the thermostat housing where it is mounted ,which is an extautionate price of about £5 squide from cit dealer
