zx suspension

Post by victor xt »

Hi there, i've been reading older post of 1.4 zx suspension, but still i don't know what the problem is, i changed the p-bushes and front bushes, also the bushes from the front stabilizer and now there is a sound coming out from my front right wheel and it is a knoking sound, the only things i didn't change are the ball joints, is it here the problem?

If its a knocking noise when you are cornering, it could be a CV joint.

CV joint will be dependant on shaft (ie wheel) speed and will probably sound several times per revolution - so at some speed it will sound like a buzz rather than a bump induced rattle. CV joint noise will generally be load dependant - ie generally quieter when there is no load - suspension rattles probably will not be unless they are those joints subject to thrust - and then it will not be steady.

Lower ball joints or Antiroll bar links. If it sounds only on one side, most probably the lower ball joints are shot. If it sounds in both sides, antiroll bar links is the culprit.
