XM gearbox change
How difficult is a gearbox change on an XM 2.1TD estate manual? It needs the clutch done as well anyway. Is it the same box as anything else? Xantia or 406?

Nothing is easy on an XM but it appears that the gearbox can be seperated from the engine sufficiently to remove the clutch but getting the gearbox right out is something else, it says in the Haynes book that it is easier to remove the complete power unit. Mind you, it did say that you couldn't remove the cylinder head without taking the engine out, well, you can, because I did, but it would probably have been easier if I had taken it out.
I would think that the gearbox would be the same as that used in the Xantia and Peugeot 406 with the 2.1 td engine.
