Of course i would burn the fessa but i would have to take a loan and interest out for the nice new car which im not prepared to get into, im only 20 and theres no way im having outstanding debts on my shoulders, im to sensible and cautious for that!
I really really really hate fords with a passion, but had to use a focus td for a few weeks last year, I really tried to find fault and hate the thing but actually got quite fond of it by the end.
Pretty decent economy, the interior hasn't really got any character but seems well screwed together (for a ford) and I found it very comfy.
Still wouldn't buy one though I'd never live it down

Probably gonna go for the estate, couldnt stand going back to a ZX size, any ideas how long the Mk1 Xantia is in total, as i want to confirm i can get the estate focus in the drive
A 90HP Focus won't go particularly well, but I'm sure you'd get used to it!
Let's face it, company cars are a bargain. You pay £100 a month in tax for a fully fuelled, serviced, tyred, insured, NEW car. You'd have to be daft not to do it! If you take the cash allowance, you pay tax on that too.
Of course, this is AFTER company car tax has been tightened to stop it being a perk!
The one thing to watch out for is losing your NCB (if you have any). Apparently many insurance firms will look favourably on ex-company car drivers, but I've yet to try it out.
It took my a while to prefer the Leon to my ZX, but I got there in the end. I'm sure an almost free, new Focus will see you right. If you like, just keep some Citroens to work on!

Right ive worked it out that im making as i am £3000 a year on the mileage rate, which for a £1000 cover road tax, insurance and about £400 worth of repairs a year, which my luck in citroens at the moment is about that.
So im taking away in my pocket £2000 a year, which is about right with the state of my ISA
If i take the car, i will be paying about £100 a month for the car and then money (9p mile) for my own personal miles.
So ive decided i prefer £2k in my pocket which pretty much includes repairs
HR just rang to say we've arranged the test drives for a week each for a 5-door and then Estate focus's
I said im just gonna stick to what im doing now.
I was told its no longer an option since its being offered.
So either a company car or cash sum to buy a new car and still pay insurance, tax, repairs etc.....so its the company car....in the long run i will be better off really and have no financial worry, as id need a loan to buy the newer car with.
I rented a Focus from Hertz last time I was in the UK - semed pretty well put together and no squeaks, but the interior is not that much larger than a ZX and despite the fuel consumption (TDi) of 55 mpg on the trip to Cornwall and back, the "sporty" suspension is a pain in the ar*e when compare with anything french and comes nowhere near a hydro Cit.
