Water in front passanger footwell

Post by dirtydog »

I have a problem whereby the passanger footwell in the front of the car is getting VERY wet, its not the heater matrix and I have siliconed the plastic strip at the bottom on the outside of the windscreen incase it was going behind it and in via the heater fan, the main area where it is wet is just under the heater area and then of course it is all accumulating in the footwell, I have looked at previous threads and will check the sun roof when I get a chance but if there is another known problem area I would appreciate any assistance.
Regards

What model of car?
Do you have Aircon? If so, is the water pipe from that connected?

Had the same problem and had my windscreen trim replaced. This solved the water coming in when raining through the heater inlet ... BUT it still comes in through the heater inlet WHEN I take it through the CARWASH. Not really a problem as the water comes from different angles then when you are driving.
If this is not the case, I would go for the airco option as mentioned before!
Cheers,
John

I had this happen just a few months after buying the car. It was a crack in the windscreen trim, under the passenger wiper blade, which continued down into the water gully beneath. Some windscreen sealant did the trick!
