Hello All,
My new CX has been behaving for a few weeks now but has refused to start today.
I drove it to work this morning without a problem, got in it to go out an hour ago and it started briefly (2 seconds), then gave a huge bang and refuses to start now. It'll turn over okay and fires but won't run.....
Any ideas? It's stranded in the work carpark at the moment....
Regards,
Rob

It's fixed....
I feel a bit silly - it had blown the manifold pipes off when it backfired and it took me ages to notice.
Oh well, at least life with a CX is never boring.
Cheers,
Rob

did it backfire through the induction system ??? If so check the connections from the inlet manifold back to the Air Flow meter. A CX without the AFM circuit intact will idle, but die as soon as you touch the accellerator. If it's a GTi Turbo model check the connections down through the intercooler, turbo and back upto the air cleaner.
good luck
