Xantia TDC sensor gap

Post by matt »

I have just changed the sensor on my friends 94 Dturbo xantia and although the rev counter works now it sometimes drops a little when ticking over.Is there a specific distance between the end of the sensor and the back of the flywheel ?I did notice when fitting it that it could be pushed all the way up to the flywheel but as it is its about 1.5-2.0 mm away and didnt want to get it any closer in case the back of the flywheel has any protrusions(big word)!
Thanks and happy christmas everyone :D

It needs to be as close as possible to the flywheel without actualy touching it, only a few thou.
There is nothing sticking out, the pulse it triggered when a drilling passes over the sensor.

I will second that. The one on my XM was damaged by something picked up by the flywheel because the bottom cover was missing, so just have a check.
