XM stalk radio controls

A little question about fitting an'98 xm wheel controls to a sony aftermarket unit.
There seem to be a number of adapters (depending on the year of make).
What i've done is checked out the adapter visualy and the connector that went into the old unit looks exactly like this one: (though i can't find a real picture to see if the connector i M of F)

It is stated to support xm's up to 94 but the other adapters suggested of the year of make don't really look my connector does.

Also there seems to be an ISO adapter to this adapter.

Thoughts?
