If you own a Citroen : always purchase genuine Citroen parts & fluids.
If you own a VW : always purchase genuine VW ...
If you own a Toyota : always ...
If you ow ...

Citroen antigel is as good as any antifreeze on sale from your lcoal ...
Any type of anti-freeze used these days for street cars can be mixed.
If you dont have any other records on the coolant fluid in your Xantia - than it may well be more than 3 y's old - then you may as well replace it.
In UK it will be more than adequate to mix it 1/3 antifreeze 2/3 tap water.
Unless you frequent the Highlands in which you may need half and half just to catch that record winter ...

Dont mix OAT /HOAT with Glycol or priordeal soup will be the result.
I would also mix with deionised / demineralised / distilled water ratehr than corporation pop.

I put O.A.T. in my BX a couple of months ago- it said on the container to drain out as much of the old antifreeze (i.e. glycol) as possible, which I did- and there's been no problems so far (in fact, the heater knob no longer sticks!!!), so as long as there's not too much of the old fashioned stuff in there shouldn't be a problem!!!

What colour is your existing antifreeze?? The O.A.T. is a girly shade of pink......

Just to confuse matters totally, there is also some Glycol antifreeze (labeled as "extreme") which is also a girly shade of pink..... so you can never be sure.

Drain, flush and refill is the only way to be sure.
This is not a signature.
